Love is always worth waiting for

I met the first boy who broke my heart.

I wasn’t dressed in a pretty dress but the dress I wore was clingy and brought out my feminine shape. I was rushing to meet someone at the junction, and I walked with poise, elegance and confidence.
I noticed that a man who was driving stared at me, of course I wasn’t surprised every pretty girl gets stared at, then I noticed another young man stared at me from a bike. At that point I became a bit irritated and wondered is today staring day?

Within quick seconds I noticed a young man stood before me and alas it was the first boy that broke my heart.
We exchanged pleasantries and he walked me to where I was going. It was kind of hard to nurse thoughts at that particular time but I couldn’t help seeing flashed of how our relationship went when we were walking.
We had days of laughter and fun but honestly if am to be 100% honest we weren’t in love. We thought it was love that we felt for each other but it wasn’t love. What could I have known about love then as a teenager, and how can another teenager show me love?
Looking back at the whole relationship that lasted for months now I can say that we were just two teenagers who didn’t know what to do with the feelings we had.
I remember the day he broke up with me, my heart was heavy after he broke the news to me, I cried and sobbed that I had lost my love.
But as silly as I was then after leaving a relationship I just hop into another not thinking about the pro and cons.
What should I expect from myself anyways, why would I know the right person for me when I haven’t even discovered myself fully.
My friends consoled me and they felt he had lost a gem by breaking up with me. But wait so if he didn’t break up with me it’s been like almost 8 years now, so I would have been stucked with him for 8 solid years. Hmmmm. Over the period of time, my needs have changed, my desires have changed, and my taste have changed. Even I have changed, I have evolved from a naïve teenage to a lady with purpose and I look back and wonder, how I could have subjected myself to all those emotional pain and stress.
Almost every teenager out there wants to be in love, wants someone to call baby and text love messages to, wants someone to call honey on phone, and wants someone to hang out with on a date. And the funniest part, almost every teenager in love is already planning marriage with their partner.
You can never give what you don’t have. You can never discover another person without discovering yourself.
Love yourself, discover your potentials, wait patiently till your heart is fit to love and you will realize that love is always worth waiting for.
Besides marriage is between man and woman not boy and girl

Love is worth waiting for.
