Learn from Segun. (A short story)
Segun kept his gaze on the pretty fair lady that sat close to him at the restaurant.
He forgot that what he was eating was peppery and he forgot to sip even a drop of water till he finished his meal.
The sight of her had filled him up and he just forced the food down his throat. As he was tidying himself up to go and approach her, he saw an elderly man walked up to her held her handsHe felt disappointed, she looked like his dream girl to him.
and hand in hand they both walked out of the restaurant.
Segun walked out of the restaurant sad and disappointed, as he was about to open the door of his SUV a young lady walked up to him and asked for #1000 assistance, she explained that she lost her wallet and she need #1000 to take her home.
Segun was a bit annoyed, in annoyance he said 'within Lagos, where could you be going that you will spend up to that?
The young lady, Liz explained that she was going to get a cab.
Segun's annoyance increased and he felt how can she be insisting on getting a cab when she could get #200 danfo that will take her home.
Segun noticed that her eyes were getting wet and that she seems confused, he decided to take it easy with her.
Segun calmed her down and eventually asked her for her area, funny enough they lived in the same area. Segun decided to drop her at home.
They got talking and Segun couldn't but notice how intelligently she spoke with poise and elegance.
Her smile was charming and she appreciated every bit of Segun's gesture.
Segun got what he wanted, he found his dream girl in Liz, even though Liz wasn't a pretty fair lady, she was a pretty dark lady with a large heart, a bundle of talents and she became Segun's wife 9 months after they met.
There is an adage that says ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD.
Segun's version is NOT ALL THAT IS GOLD GLITTERS.
He couldn't have imagined that he would find his dream girl in a package that he was not so attracted to at first.
Learn from Segun, our gold can have any type of wrapping. It might be wrapped in foil, nylon, paper, tissue, plastic........
Everyone we meet has a golden virtue in them, even though sometimes it might take long to unwrap the wrapping. Don't let's run out of patience.
Let's keep unwrapping till we find the gold locked inside of them. Even the sand has a gift to share.
There is nothing that God created that doesn't have a golden virtue inside. God never makes mistakes and everything He made was good.
Not all gold glitters.
Remember, even Jesus came in the Form of a man.... And because of that we became saved today.
