Love After God’s Heart

God writes the best love stories. He wrote that of Isaac. Join us at the Singles time out and come and learn how to love after God's heart (Learn from Isaac)

Once upon a time, there lived a very wise man called Olanipekun.

Mr Olanipekun was a very rich man. He had chains of businesses both in Nigeria and abroad. He was indeed blessed on all sides.

He had a faithful servant that has been with him for a very long time. He knew he could trust him.

One day Olanipekun called Kayode, his faithful servant and asked him to promise him and swear that he will make sure that his son Olawole doesn’t marry from a strange land.
Olanipekun’s story is that of someone that flourished in a strange land. He has left his own town and people a very long time ago and this was an instruction from God which he obeyed to the latter.

Olawole was a child of Olanipekun’s old age, Olawole was born when all thought that all hope was lost. But because God had promised Olanipekun that he was going to give him a child he trusted God to fulfil his promise. Olanipekun knew that if his son married from a strange land where they served other gods that his heart might turn away from God.

He knew the importance of Love after the heart of God. Olawole didn’t question his father’s instruction, he followed to the latter. His father’s faithful servant travelled all the way back to their home town and with the direction of God found the love after God’s heart for Olawole. They got married and they lived happily ever after.

That’s actually a modern version of the love story of Isaac. Taking a close study to the story of Isaac one would discover that Isaac was a very obedient child so it was very easy for his father to direct him towards the path of finding love after God’s heart. Gen 22:2-9 talks about the period when Abraham wanted to sacrifice Isaac.

Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born unto him Gen 21:5. So came to think of it, Isaac could have decided to just push his father away and run for his dear life, but he willingly allowed the old man. Gen 22:9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar upon the wood. Isaac didn’t run away while they were on the way even though he noticed that there was no animal to be sacrificed, he didn’t push his father away but allowed himself to be tied and laid down at the altar. And even when Isaac was about to take one of the greatest decisions of his life (marriage) he obeyed his father.
