The struggles of a teenage girl in the body of a woman

The Struggles of Mobowofoluwa (A young teenage girl in the body of a woman)

My name is Mobowofoluwa (I pay homage to God) I am 13 years old.

I will be sharing my struggles as a teenage girl in a woman’s body and how I have been able to cope with my struggles.

At least 45% of teenage girls like me also possess this body trait of a grown up woman.  We start menstruating early, we have well developed breast, and large hips all in a big body.  My mom calls it rapid growth.

I learnt that the reason why a woman is shaped the way she is , is for her to be able to carry a child. large hips are for her to be able to carry the weight of a child, big breasts are for her to breast feed her baby. I look in the mirror and wonder, why do I have this body at the age of 13 ?

This body trait makes me feel like am getting old when I see my friends with small body stature but I always remind myself that am wonderfully and fearfully created by God.

Another way I struggle with this body trait is all eyes of opposite sex are on me, when I pass they look at me lustfully some make sexual advances towards me starting from my school, my neighbourhood , market etc

Because of my body and how men stare at me , sometimes I don’t feel like going out. I find it hard to run around like some teenagers of my age. Sometimes when I play, some mock me that big girl like you playing with small children. I find it hard to explain to them that I just clocked 13.

It takes focus, determination and understanding that I will not give in to what is wrong because I am a girl of dignity. This body trait makes a lot of girl of my age get carried away they think the body trait is a license for them to start misbehaving, some became disobedient and rude to their parent and elderly ones, some became promiscuous which later makes them unable to fulfil their dreams.

But I Mobowofoluwa have being able to cope against all odds because, I know what I want and who I am, I know  I must fulfil my dreams, I want something great, I don't want to live a life full of regret later in future, I also want to be an agent of positive change, I want to make an impact in my generation, I want to be a blessing to many.

So I have decided to carry myself with poise and elegance , have confidence in whom God has made me , strive for excellence at every point , make meaningful impact in my generation and keep my body till marriage.

Now when I look in the mirror , I don't wonder why I have this body but rather I give thanks to God for making me Who I am.

My name is Mobowofoluwa, my struggle is my story and from it I draw an amount of strength daily because I know that I am wonderfully and fearfully made.
